Panem - District 12 - The Seam
Katniss lives in North America but what is now called Panem. She is 16 years old and he has 1 mother and 1 sister. She is hunting in the woods for small animals to feed or trade for maybe a loaf of bred but she is also hunting eligally. The "peacemakers" have the whole city under control. This thing called the reaping is coming up. It is a drawing to pick 1 girl and 1 boy from each district to go to the Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is a big compotition where everbody fights to the death to win. This compitition is just a sport for the capitol to see people from other districts die. But when she does the most brave thing, she doesnt know what she is getting herself into...
I think that the reason the Capitol has The Hunger Games is because they don't want another rebellion that happened earlier that anhillated Distric 13. So they try to scare the 12 districts so they don't rebel again.
